Banyuwangi is a district in the province of East Java, Indonesia. The capital of this district is in Banyuwangi District. This regency is located at the easternmost tip of the island of Java in Indonesia, precisely in the Tapal Kuda area, which borders Situbondo Regency and Bondowoso Regency to the north, the Bali Strait and Bali Province to the east, the Indian Ocean to the south, and Jember Regency and Regency Bondowoso to the west. Banyuwangi Regency is the largest district in East Java and also the second largest district on the island of Java.
Banyuwangi Regency is a cross-island region between Java and Bali, so it is a meeting place for various types of culture. The culture of the people of Banyuwangi is very diverse and includes local culture from the Javanese, Balinese, Madurese and Malay tribes. There are also foreign cultures which include European culture.
In Selorejo hamlet, Glenmore sub-district, on the slopes of Mount Raung, there is Pura Beji Ananthaboga, a temple and shrine located and occupying the Perhutani KPH West Banyuwangi area.
